28.7.7 @ Coldstream

The wedding and reception was held a a winery in Coldstream. I was invited as an ‘and guest’ with Kylee whose whole family has known the bride and groom for a while.

I got to meet her brother Matt and his girlfriend Lisa before the wedding. Both are lovely people and I look forward to spending more time with them in the future.

I was encouraged to take my camera along with me and to capture some photos that I could pass on the the bride and groom. I of course obliged and managed to snap away over 330 images. Most have been whittled away and the online album has 130 photos which will be given to the bride and groom. The family were very receptive to having their photos taken and it made the night so much better. My Flickr account will be featuring some of these shortly.

They had a professional photographer of course but it’s always nice to get photos from the gathered throng as you will get a slightly different angle, so to speak.

The catering was a casual ‘cocktail’ affair and therefore did not involve a full meal. But what came around was very tasty.

A highlight for me, being a veteran of many weddings (as a musician), was the couple cutting the wedding cake using a samurai sword. The sword was provided by Matt and I got the opportunity to take several photos of it the following morning.

All involved had a fantastic night.

Me: “Why are you using Internet Explorer?”
Tim: “Because I am a tool of the corporate machine.”

Tim and I were were hunting for a domain name for his upcoming blog (stay tuned). After trying several unsuccessfully I typed alltheothergoodnamesweretaken.com into the registration request more out of frustration than actually wanting the name. The name was available! Tim didn’t want it so I took it.

I’ll just redirect it to point at one of my other websites I guess.

The RXAphotos link to the top right will take you to a list of photos you can view. Only a few of which will make it to my Flickr site and even more rarely, to my portfolio. The photos are sorted by the day they are taken and each link has a list of what is contained within each day’s shoot.
