Even though I had pretty much lived around Melbourne my entire life, it still never ceases to amaze me how much I haven’t seen of the city. We managed to go through at least ten lane ways that i have never been before. Some of the buildings are amazing. You also find these little restaurants that you never knew existed but apparently others did as most were full to overflowing.
I left my tripod at home so I was forced to use the 50mm lens to get reasonable shutter speeds for the night. I was happy with the haul especially this particular photo.
After about ninety minutes we went to a little dumpling restaurant and ordered about eighty dumplings between us. Not having really tried them before I was very pleased with the food and wouldn’t hesitate to eat them again.
Overall a great night out meeting many new friends and one I had seen before who insisted on introducing me as an ‘old school member’ and ‘one of the original Melbourne crew’ which I thought was pretty cool.
I look forward to more of these meets in the future. The Melbourne group traditionally holds one at the start of each month.
Todays lesson: When it is dark or going to be dark, take your tripod. You will not be the only one and will not look silly.
