The first stop was JB-Hifi in Frankston to stock up on cheesy 70′s & 80′s CD’s. Songs that we belted out at ridiculous throat threshing volumes in two part harmony with the windows down, feet on the dash and cool beverages in hand. We then drove down to Arthur’s Seat to take a couple of panoramas for L to paint at a later stage.
We then headed Montalto Winery (L’s favourite), where we had a delicious lunch followed by a lovely walk through the vineyard to look at the many sculptures and I was quite restrained with the camera. After some tasting L bought half the winery and we headed off with me (the sober one) at the wheel. Box Stallion was the next winery where we had show of repetitious wine descriptions by a young dude. L used her ‘phone a friend’ card and ended up ordering half the winery for them.
Laden down with wine and giggling hysterically at the wine descriptions we headed to Mornington, making up our own such as ‘the gentle aroma of horse testicles strike the palette with the subtleness of oak to the forehead leaving a slightly nutty flavour’.
Next stop was L’s sister (also a pom, but I didn’t hold that against her) for a quick high tea.
Heading home finally, L snoozed whilst I wrestled with Sunday traffic.
A healthy meal of cheese and crackers plus a delectable dessert of strawberry crepes (yes again, I am so spoilt) is being prepared as I type this.
A DVD on the couch rounded off the perfect Sunday.
