Today it seems is a special day.
If my ex-wife and I were still together we would have been probably ignoring each other on what would have been our eigth wedding anniversary today.
And today is Lucy and my eight week anniversary.
Gosh that’s rather freaky really.

99/365 – My little man

When I have Matthew (normally one day per week) he drives me insane with his constant badgering and requests to do things. It’s a horrible thing to say but sometimes I count the hours until I can drop him off back at his mothers. A couple of weekends ago he was in fine form and I couldn’t wait to pack him off. He was rude, disobedient and a downright pain in the arse.
But what he doesn’t know is that when he is with his mother, there is a huge part of me missing.
I wish I was a better father those times he is around but I know that if I get too close the days he isn’t around hurt twice as much … like today.
I rang Lucy at work hoping to get her voice mail as I knew she had a lot of meetings today. I just needed to hear her voice. Silly girl answered her phone. Even sillier girl still wants to be with me even though I can be an emotional roller coaster at times.
Comments from members of the flickr community (as well as talking to Lucy) have helped buck me up a lot this morning. Thanks guys!

88/365 – I can’t dance

1. To make Lucy smile. She’s a bit stressed out with her workload at the minute and is a tad frazzled. Hopefully this photo of ‘your dag’ dancing very badly will make you laugh and smile, even if just for a minute.
2. It’s also a Happy Birthday dance for Rosie! Happy Birthday!”
A text message plus a phone call later confirmed that my photo did indeed make Lucy smile and laugh … and a message early this morning told me that lot’s of people liked it as it made Flickr’s “explore”.
Another ridiculous day coming up which makes me wonder why my brain won’t let my body sleep past seven am. I’m playing in Queenscliff tonight for a military ball scheduled to finish at one am.
After which I’m driving home. Expecting to hit bed by about three thirty.

This post is being written at 0636 … in the morning.
I could have written it at 06.05 but my brain wasn’t up to being creative.
Lucy is spending the day in Brisbane for work today so she had to be at the airport for an early flight. Being the caring sharing partner I am I happily got up when the alarm went off at 0500 and left when she did.
Poor thing looked rather tired this morning.
Last night was the dress rehearsal for the Murder Mystery she is taking part in over the next three Fridays. Funny show with a lot of improv ability required by the cast. I took the cast photos for the foyer and will be taking photos of the show next week.
Hope you all have a great day … I’m thinking of going back to bed. I have a army rehearsal tonight but not until seven.

Which means mine must be flippin’ minuscule as I am excited that I have 6 actual pairs of socks in my sock drawer. Not just six pairs of “well they are both sort of black so that’s close enough” but six ACTUAL PAIRS of socks.
My God I need to see Lucy again. I appear to be going nuts. Last point of contact had her driving through Wangaratta. She’ll be back soon.
