9/365 – Bamboo
Originally uploaded by RXAphotos
I was just about to head out the door this afternoon when a courier pulled up at the driveway. He was here bearing a gift. One of my recent purchases from eBay, a brand new Wacom Bamboo tablet.
I have been meaning to get a tablet for ages having heard many photographers rave about them and the assistance they provide with detailed editing in Photoshop and other software. With a bulging PayPal account (and no bank account linked to it), I thought I would use some funds and invest in one.
This thing is cool. The level of interaction is fantastic and it won’t take me too long to get really fluent with it.
An additional bonus occurred when I fired up my music software on a hunch. Yep, I can use the tablet to “write” music using the notation software I have on my MacBook. This is a real bonus as not having a number pad on the MacBook is a hassle when using the music software. But now it’s just as fast if not faster to do my arrangements.
Thank you Wacom, my RSI is ensured now.
Oh yeah, I better go as I was slighty late leaving BEFORE the tablet arrived.

I’m trawling through a LOT of photographs at the moment. Rating, key wording, deleting, sorting and uploading a few.
Here’s a list of recent album additions I haven’t mentioned on the blog yet.

Sorry I have missed a couple of days loyal readers.
Yesterday was a day of Army musicness. First a church service and then a concert combined (at times) with the McKinnon Secondary Collage senior concert band.
Otherwise I have been coding my new online portfolio gallery. I have some cards arriving from the USA soon with a photo on the front and my details on the back. As I can’t hand them out until the website is ready (or close to) I have been coding away furiously.
The website will direct you (if you so choose) to my RedBubble page where you can purchase my work in a variety of colours and flavours.
Of course you lot will be the first to know when the site goes live.
Now my break is over it’s back to the code.

Apparently I forgot to mention that I had uploaded some of the photos I took at the “Last night of the proms” concert last Saturday (11/08).
I was able to get these shots in between performing with the band.
Photos are here.

Not much to talk about today so I guess I’ll just showcase my second self portrait I have uploaded for the 365 days project (see previous post).
Having done this I’m expecting some wrath from the women in my life (something about eating properly, not really sure as I just drift away when they lecture).
It’s going to be interesting to see just how many different photographs of myself I can come up with.
Anyways … off to army for the rest of the day. It’s an arranging day/night tonight as the rest of the band are off doing section practice with the other band.
Should be fun … I’m doing “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” for brass quintet as a tuba feature. Sounds logical doesn’t it?
